Nick Greaves

Welcome to a new feature where i put a spotlight on one of our members. Nick Greaves sent me some images a few weeks ago, up until now i have been to busy to use them.

Nick Greaves is one of our prominent members. As well as being an accomplished photographer he is also a Safari Guide.

"Baboon Threat"

No doubt this is very helpful when taking pictures like these!

"Sunrise on Lake Victoria"

Nick is also the author of several books of stories, folklore & mythology of African tribespeople. Back in the slightly less glamorous setting of Scarborough he keeps himself busy at the Betton Birds of Prey Conservation centre at East Ayton.

"Harris Hawk"

Nick trains and flies a whole range of birds of prey. He gives flying demonstrations for the public and has on more than one occasion treated club members to an evening flying display.

"Saker Falcon"

Nick also trains his camera on other subjects other than wildlife. He usually scores well in club and inter club competitions. His final image is titled,

"Angel of the North"

I would like to thank Nick for sending me these images for use on the website, also for unwittingly becoming a guinea pig to launch this feature! Nick has a website where you can find out more about him, his books and see more examples of his photography. Click Here.

You can visit the Betton Birds of Prey and Conservation Centre website Here.

The Betton Farm Visitor Centre website where the birds of prey centre is located is Here.
